After check in, we were escorted to our suite which was BEAUTIFUL and gigantic. It had its own sitting area with a dining table, fold out couch, and half bath, in addition to a king size bedroom and spacious bathroom.

One additional perk of access to The Langham Club is use of the hotel's car. It's a first come, first served service and they will take you anywhere within a two mile radius of the hotel. We caught a ride to dinner in the Loop - it definitely beats taking a Lyft!

After dinner, we returned to find a lovely surprise in our room from the hotel - a bottle of sparkling wine (the same wine served at our wedding!) and cake!

We made it back to the room in time to enjoy the Saturday night fireworks from Navy Pier too!

The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the club lounge. The food is always something different, and the housemade pastries are divine!

Breakfast at The Langham Club |
After breakfast I spent the day at The Langham's
Chuan Spa. It's one of the best spas I've ever visited, and my secret hiding place in the dead of winter. One of the best parts of the spa? These heated stone loungers where you can relax before or after a spa service.

I indulged in a 60 minute massage that incorporated acupressure. It was such a delight! After my service, my therapist gave me a glass of bubbly and chocolate to continue the birthday celebration.

After my massage, my husband and I relaxed in the pool and hot tub. It's truly a calming urban oasis! There is also a well-equipped gym and group fitness studio. Club Lounge access also includes one complimentary group fitness class during your stay.

One additional perk of staying at The Langham is the ability to book the Cinema Suite for FREE. It's a beautiful and comfortable room with seating for 12 people. You can watch the latest episode of your favorite TV show or choose from a selection of nearly 100 movies. We opted to watch the movie
Baby Driver (which I had never heard of but ending up loving!) from the comfortable reclining chairs. It was a nice way to continue the relaxation theme after my spa day.

There is also a dining menu if you'd like to order candy, snacks, or other treats to enjoy during your cinema experience. I think this is SUCH a hidden hem in the city. Talk about a major benefit of staying at The Langham!

Later that night, we dressed up for dinner at
Travelle, The Langham's all-day restaurant. It's a beautiful space with a glass kitchen allowing diners a glimpse of the action in the kitchen, plus an extensive wine display that lights up the dining room.

Travelle offers a four-course, plant-based dinner series with
Green City Market featuring market-fresh ingredients through the end of October. We ordered one of the seasonal dishes that caught our eye, a peach and burrata salad covered with a peach "veil" and topped with sourdough breadcrumbs and peach jam.

Our next course was ahi tuna crudo with raspberry rose water dashi (broth) and black lime powder. The tuna was arranged to look like a flower and was so refreshing!

For our main courses, we decided to split a few entrees and sides including the filet mignon with bordelaise and romesco sauces, truffled potato gnocchi with beurre blanc, loaded crispy potatoes, and wok-fried green beans. I'm not exaggerating when I say that every dish we ordered was perfection! The steak was perfectly cooked, the green beans were downright addicting (thanks to some nuoc cham, mint, chili, and peanuts) and the gnocchi and crispy potatoes were comfort food at its finest.

While we were stuffed at this point, we saved room for a birthday dessert. We opted for the Banoffee Bread Pudding with toffee caramel and banana ice cream.

The Travelle team also sent out a special vanilla cake birthday surprise!

With cooler months headed our way, I highly recommend a staycation at The Langham. It's the perfect urban oasis with best-in-class amenities, spa services, on-site dining, and overall service. You'll literally never want to leave (and you won't have to)! The team at The Langham really understands the importance of celebrations, large or small, and goes out of their way to truly make your experience unforgettable.
Note: I received a media rate to stay at The Langham and a complimentary meal at Travelle to facilitate this post.
