The all-star team behind Lakeview's DryHop Brewers is opening up another brewpub in Southport Corridor, named Corridor Brewery & Provisions. This brewery will have more of a Belgian focus with its beers, as well as a full menu of flatbreads, and other farmhouse style eats. At a recent media preview they were sampling their Wizard Fight Nitro Lactose IPA, as well as Last Daze Here, a saison. Corridor just announced today they will officially be open for business on Thursday, October 15th!

Viaggio
Have you been to Viaggio in the West Loop? If not, it's definitely worth checking out. They have incredible, hearty Italian dishes that are bound to put some meat on your bones. The meatball salad is amazing...those meatballs are so tender and delicious! The eggplant stack, brick chicken, and cheesecake also are worth saving room for. Viaggio is down the street from the United Center, making it a great option for a pre- Bulls or Hawks game.

I'm still thinking about the amazingness that was Shaw's Oyster Fest. The Friday night fest featured the best oysters and seafood from across the country. There were fresh seafood towers complete with crab legs, crab claws, shrimp and of course oysters, as well as oyster po' boys, oysters Rockefeller, charbroiled oysters, lobster rolls, crab fries and much more!

One of the hottest new fast casual concepts in Chicago is Brightwok Kitchen, an Asian stir-fry concept located in the Loop. Brightwok Kitchen was the brainchild of Jeremy Klaben and chef Kolter Livengood. The restaurant is as bright as its name suggests and offers patrons the option of customizing their own stir fry bowls and salads prepared directly in front of them. All sauces and dressings are made in house, the team uses local meats and veggies, and the entire menu is gluten-free.
