Last week I had the chance to check out Chicago's newest oyster and cocktail bar, Pearl Tavern. This beautiful restaurant is located at Wacker and Lake, conveniently across from my office (DANGER)! Pearl Tavern is headed up by Chef Chris Lorenz and Sous Chef Sean Giordano.
The space itself is warm, inviting, and elegant. There is an abundance of brass and marble throughout, as well as the building's original ceiling which is worth a stare.
In addition to offering both East and West coast oysters, the menu is also filled with a selection of crudo dishes including scallops and ceviche, sandwiches, salads and main dishes for sharing. At the heart of the restaurant is a stunning vintage marble oyster bar allowing you an up-close look at those delicious oysters. The menu is impressive, as is the quality of the fresh seafood. Worth noting however is the cocktail menu, featuring a selection of retro cocktails.
I had the pleasure of sampling a handful of cocktails, crudo, oysters, and entrees. Check out the photos below and be sure to check out Pearl Tavern for post-work cocktails and seafood, or a romantic (and retro) dinner. You will be impressed!
