A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend one of the coolest culinary events in Chicago!
LuxeHome's 7th annual CHILL event featured 150 excellent wines from around the world, paired with cuisine from 40 of the city's top chefs. Just having delicious food and wine may be enough to please, however, the event took place inside the boutiques for homebuilding and renovation in the
Merchandise Mart. I don't know about you, but I've always wanted to browse the amazing showrooms inside the first floor of the Merchandise Mart but I've never had the opportunity or need to!
Each showroom featured wineries and chefs offering samples among the displays of everything from brass-coated hot tubs to exquisite chandeliers and $25,000 digital showers.
My wine-loving friend Megan and I hopped from each
LuxeHome showroom checking out all of the beautiful pieces and of course the fabulous wines and cuisines. Some of the highlights of the evening included our favorite bite which was the braised short rib and butternut squash from
David Burke's Primehouse!
The event also acts as a fundraiser for both the
Respiratory Health Association and
The Lynn Sage Foundation with silent auctions benefiting each. Some of the showrooms featured performances from the
Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras as well. Check out some photos from the amazing evening below and be sure to attend next year's event!
