The Sweetest Day Ever + My 1st Giveaway!

Sweetest Day. The holiday no one really knows anything about. The holiday that always falls on the third Saturday in October. The holiday that is apparently the Valentine's Day for men. Who knew? Oh, and the holiday that is an excuse to buy sweets (except I never really needed one!).

To help me spoil the BF this Sweetest Day, I received a care package of decadent chocolate-covered strawberries, and Pixies, all from chocolatier, Fannie May. It was my duty to taste test all of these luscious sweets, and I certainly came through.

Fannie May's signature Pixies are a combination of caramel, milk chocolate, and pecans. This simple combination had the best texture because it was crunchy from the pecans and velvety smooth from the caramel and chocolate. These were definitely our favorite. The two-pound box of chocolates even came wrapped in platinum-colored paper. They were almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

We also received three boxes of dipped strawberries that were literally as big as my head. I couldn't get over the size of these things! The full dozen box of Fannie May Favorites Chocolate Dipped Strawberries included three varieties of their most popular berries, Pixie with caramel, milk chocolate, and pecans, Trinidad with milk chocolate and coconut, and Mint Meltaway with mint-infused milk and white chocolate.

Rounding out the other dozen strawberries were the Champagne Celebration and Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. My favorite were definitely the sea salt caramel strawberries because I loved the salty and sweet combination. The champagne strawberries were delicious of course, but I'm not as big a fan of white chocolate. I was especially impressed by the size of the strawberries. Each was super fresh too--you'd have no idea these weren't made hours ago. The chocolate layer on each strawberry was ridiculously thick and practically made these seem like chocolates with a side of strawberry!
