A few weekends ago, I had to the chance to be a part of
The Better Show's'
License to Spill national tour. The tour, sponsored by
Mohawk Flooring, made its way through six cities, including Chicago. In each city, a news-van-turned-food-truck appeared at a local food festival, with The Better Show team chatting with local food bloggers and chefs. I had the chance to meet up with the License to Spill van and The Better Show's team at Long Grove's annual
Chocolate Fest. We got together on the Saturday of the festival and had the chance to film
a TV segment about what else, chocolate!

After exploring some of the tasty vendors at the festival (they had everything from deep fried Oreos to chocolate ravioli), I stopped by the Mohawk Flooring tent. They offered the chance to add some messy stains to Mohawk carpet samples and demonstrated just how easily those stains can come out. A lot of kids had a blast dripping chocolate sauce and soy sauce on the carpets while their parents looked on!

During my time with the folks at Mohawk Flooring and The Better Show, I had the chance to meet local pastry chef, Tiffany Schuler. Tiffany is the owner of Long Grove's
Sweet Whimsy Pastry Shop, which specializes in pastries and specialty cakes. Tiffany chatted with The Better Show host Audra Lowe about the chocolaty desserts she prepared for this year's Chocolate Fest, including a flourless chocolate cake.

I had the awesome task of taste testing the cake and giving my honest feedback. Since there was a chocolate fountain nearby, I just had to dip a piece of the cake in the chocolate. The result was a decadent bite of smooth cake and sweet cocoa. I gave the cake two thumbs up!

Overall, I had a great time hanging out with Chef Tiffany, The Better Show host Audra Lowe, and the Mohawk Flooring team. It was a gorgeous day to spend outside at a food festival supporting the local Long Grove community! For more information on the License to Spill Tour and to
