Sprinkles Cupcake Baking Mixes |
Having heard about the new Gold Coast location of the famed Beverly Hills cupcake shop, Sprinkles, led me to wait in line with the rest of Chicago's cupcake-hungry foodies. The thirty minutes of waiting to get in the door reminded me of being in line at NYC's Magnolia Bakery. However, this time I was entertained by a T.V. with clips from Sprinkles' many T.V. appearances from Martha Stewart to Oprah.

Once I was finally inside, I was greeted by a grand display case beautifully showcasing the many varieties of Sprinkles Cupcakes. This is where the hard part began, having to decide what you wanted in a limited amount of time. (Note: the line moves fast so grab a flavor card to keep handy so you'll know each day's flavors in advance!) It was like cupcake art, row by row of adorable little cakes with the signature Sprinkles cupcake frosting.

Ultimately, I decided on the black and white, Belgian dark chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, simple, but delicious. The cake was extremely light, yet rich, and the frosting very sweet. I'm sad to say, a bit
too sweet. However, this little cupcake did satisfy my cupcake craving...well, at least until I can get back to Molly's! :)
