As any baked-good enthusiast, I am constantly on the lookout for the best cupcake around. Having drooled at both New York's Magnolia Bakery and Chi-town's Molly's Cupcakes, I was excited to try someplace new!
I had heard about the new Cupcake truck that hit the streets of Chicago earlier this month, and was ecstatic that they'd finally be making the journey up to Evanston where I work! After following Flirty Cupcakes on Twitter, I walked on over to their Tweeted location to find their cute cupcake van.
It was a tough choice but I ultimately decided on the "CBFF," a chocolate cupcake with Nutella ganache...who can resist NUTELLA?! (or chocolate for that matter!). For $3.25 + tax I got a cute little cupcake hugged in a plastic box.
The cake was extremely moist- you could see every nook and cranny! The ganache was very rich and fudgey but not too sweet, which I like. My only complaint is that I couldn't really taste the Nutella. The cupcake tasted very fresh and was the perfect size for a sweet afternoon treat. I'd give it 4.5 stars and will probably be back to try one of their best-sellers, "The McDreamy" !
